| This truck began life as a reefer van. The fire department purchased the chassis, refurbed and painted the cab, and sent the chassis to Amthor, who shortened the frame, mounted the tank, and fabricated the rear deck and bumper. Members of the department mounted the PTO pump, lights, and other equipment. Total cost of the truck was just over $30,000. | ||

NOTICE TO BIDDERS: The Town of Clayton Fire District will be accepting sealed bids for the sale of one used 1984 International Tanker Fire Truck. This truck is a single axle International S-1954 with a DT-466 engine. It has a 2000 gallon Aluminum tank that was purchased new in 1990. The Tanker was deemed not needed by an evaluation conducted in September. The Tanker is being sold “as is “. For information and inspection, contact Chief Larry Girard @ 315-778-5855 Sealed bids marked “1984 International Tanker” must be received by the Town of Clayton Fire District Secretary/Treasurer, PO Box 237 Clayton, NY 13624 by February 3, 2012 and will be opened on February 8, 2012 at 8:00pm in the Depauville FD Banquet Hall. A 10% deposit in the form of a Certified Check or Cashiers check payable to the Town of Clayton Fire District is required with the bid.
