Membership Information

Thank you for your interest in joining our department. We are like most fire departments - we get called at all hours of the day and night, for everything from childbirth to raging fires. We also train, and we conduct fund-raising. Each year we respond to just over 100 emergencies on average.

We have several requirements for ongoing membership. These include responses, training, meetings, fund-raisers, and equipment tests. Meeting the minimum requirements will take about 30 hours of your time in the course of a year, spread out over about nine days. The 100 hour Firefighter I course is required during your first year of membership, and you can move on to take the Firefighter II course if you wish, in addition to many other fire and EMS courses. Most training is free. We recommend you review our bylaws for a more thorough explanation.
